AGIBOT, which Omdia ranks first worldwide in 2025 humanoid shipments, is close to completing a funding round of about RMB 1–1.5 billion that would value it at roughly RMB 50 billion, Chinese business outlet Caijing reported on October 13, 2026, citing investors. One investor told Caijing the round would push AGIBOT’s planned Hong Kong listing past the end of 2026. AGIBOT declined to comment on the financing, valuation or IPO progress, TechNode reported. The round is not confirmed as closed.
The choice is time for price. A pre-IPO round fixes a valuation now, with investors who know the company, instead of letting a public book set it in a market that has spent two months repricing Unitree.
Key Facts
- Round of about RMB 1–1.5 billion at a valuation of about RMB 50 billion, near completion (Caijing, October 13, 2026; AGIBOT declined to comment)
- July 2026 reports put AGIBOT’s Hong Kong pre-listing valuation target at HK$40–50 billion (36Kr)
- Hong Kong generally requires 120 days between pre-IPO financing and listing unless an exemption is granted
- 2025 revenue: RMB 1.05 billion; Omdia ranks AGIBOT first in 2025 humanoid shipments, at more than 5,100 units
Why would a new round delay the listing?
Because of Hong Kong’s gap rule. A listing applicant that completes new financing before listing generally has to wait 120 days from that financing before it can list, unless it obtains an exemption. 36Kr calculated on October 13 that if the round closes at the end of October, the earliest listing date would fall around the end of February 2027. Neither report says AGIBOT has sought an exemption.
That is a long slide from the original plan. AGIBOT began preparing for a Hong Kong listing in July 2026, and reports at the time pointed to a listing as early as August, according to 36Kr. The company has kept producing in the meantime: its 20,000th robot came off the line on September 24.
Why lock in a private price now?
Look at the only listed comparable. Unitree priced its Shanghai STAR Market IPO in August at a valuation near RMB 61 billion. Its market value then peaked at RMB 444.9 billion and stood at about RMB 170.4 billion when 36Kr reported on October 13, down more than 60% from the top, though still nearly three times its IPO valuation. Regulators have also turned more cautious: mainland scrutiny of humanoid listings has tightened since Unitree’s slide, and AGIBOT was among the companies named as preparing to list.
Against that, a reported RMB 50 billion private mark is a full price. It sits above the top of the HK$40–50 billion range reported in July, since HK$50 billion is worth less than RMB 50 billion, and it is nearly 48 times AGIBOT’s 2025 revenue of RMB 1.05 billion. Locking it in gives AGIBOT a reference point that does not move with Unitree’s share price. The cost is that the eventual IPO has to clear it. A Hong Kong offering priced below RMB 50 billion would be a down round for the investors writing cheques this month, which makes the 2027 timing as much about market conditions as about the 120-day clock.
Frequently Asked
How much is AGIBOT raising, and at what valuation?
About RMB 1–1.5 billion at a valuation of roughly RMB 50 billion, according to investors cited by Caijing on October 13, 2026. The round is reported as near completion; AGIBOT has declined to comment.
When could AGIBOT list in Hong Kong?
Probably not before 2027. Hong Kong generally requires 120 days between pre-IPO financing and listing unless an exemption is granted. 36Kr calculated that a round closing at the end of October would allow a listing around the end of February 2027 at the earliest.
How does AGIBOT’s valuation compare with Unitree’s?
Unitree’s market value peaked at RMB 444.9 billion after its August 2026 Shanghai listing and was about RMB 170.4 billion on October 13, 2026, according to 36Kr. That is still more than three times AGIBOT’s reported private valuation of about RMB 50 billion.
