AGIBOT and Chimelong deploy 300+ robots across seven roles at Zhuhai Spaceship Park

AGIBOT and Chinese theme-park operator Chimelong launched a deployment of more than 300 robots at Chimelong Spaceship Park in Zhuhai on September 24, 2026. The robots work across seven roles, from martial-arts and table-tennis shows to guiding visitors, retail, companionship, hotel service, science education and sports competitions, on a dedicated 5G-A network built with China Mobile.

Why it matters: a 300-unit order in a paying, visitor-facing venue gives AGIBOT a showcase at scale. It also tests whether robots can be run as park staff rather than as a one-off attraction.

What are the robots doing at Chimelong Spaceship Park?

The robots perform, guide, sell and serve across seven scenarios, according to AGIBOT’s announcement. Shows include martial arts, gymnastics and tai chi, plus multi-robot routines staged with human performers, music and lighting. Visitors can play table tennis against robots and try hands-on manipulation challenges.

Service robots answer questions, introduce exhibits and guide visitors. Others staff retail service stations, offer AI companion experiences, welcome guests in the park’s hotel and hold multi-turn conversations, and run sports competitions and science education programmes. GadgetMatch’s report names AGIBOT’s A3, X2 and G2 robots and its OmniHand among the hardware on show. AGIBOT did not publish a model-by-model fleet breakdown.

Chinese media coverage of the launch says the robots are spread across more than 100 interactive points in the park, and that the two companies had about a month to prepare after signing the agreement on August 23. Chimelong Spaceship Park, in Hengqin, Zhuhai, began trial operations in September 2023.

How does Chimelong run 300 robots at once?

Through a dedicated network and central fleet control. AGIBOT says it built a dedicated 5G-A network with China Mobile and a centralised coordination system to manage robots across the park and hotel. Safety measures cover network security, privacy, charging and fire safety.

Staffing is the operating metric to watch. According to Chinese media coverage, Chimelong currently runs about three robots per staff member, with a target of 10 and an ideal of 20. That ratio decides the economics: at three to one, robots are an attraction that needs minders; at 20 to one, they start to replace labour. No operating results, uptime or autonomy figures have been published, and Humanoids Daily notes the release gives no independently verified performance data.

Will Chimelong add more robots?

Yes, if the plan holds. AGIBOT and Chimelong describe the 300-robot launch as the first phase, with later phases intended to extend robots across Chimelong’s entertainment and hospitality venues. The two companies also set up a joint research institute for embodied AI in culture and tourism.

It is a different model from the Western approach. Disney has built a small number of in-house character robots, such as its BDX droids, designed as characters with a story. Chimelong has bought a fleet of general-purpose robots from a supplier and spread them across many jobs. What does AGIBOT get from the deal?

A reference customer and a public test fleet. The launch coincided with delivery of AGIBOT’s 20,000th robot, and 300 units is a large single order at the company’s current output of about 5,000 robots a quarter. Theme parks tolerate scripted, supervised robots better than factory lines do, so the venue lets AGIBOT turn production into visible, paid deployment while industrial tasks mature.

The risk is the reverse of the opportunity. A public venue exposes every breakdown to paying visitors. If Chimelong publishes staffing ratios or uptime after the first months, it will be one of the few real operating datasets for humanoids outside factories.
