Faraday Future and FF EAI Robotics Ecosystem (FFR) launched FF Nova, a 20-degree-of-freedom humanoid priced at $2,490 for developers and schools, and FF Nova Mini, a $299 robot for children, the companies announced on October 15, 2026. At the same time FFR, a Nasdaq-listed company, agreed to acquire Faraday Future’s robotics business in an all-stock deal that values those assets at about $200 million.
Why it matters: $2,490 is about half the $4,900 that Unitree charges for its R1 Air, the cheapest humanoid with a US list price in our price guide. The supply is small, though: the first phase is 100 units.
Key Facts
- FF Nova: $2,490, plus an optional $390 Developer Skills Package; 20 DoF, LiDAR, depth sensing, microphone array, detachable wheeled base, ROS 2 and over-the-air updates
- Phase one: 100 units for invited developers and institutions, the first 20 for immediate delivery; later phases undated
- FF Nova Mini: $299, under 1 kg, for ages 8 and up; separate $499 curriculum of 16 live classes over eight weeks
- Deal: FFR to issue shares at $2.246, about 50% above its $1.50 close on Oct 12; Faraday Future to own about 65.7% of FFR afterwards
What does $2,490 buy?
A developer platform. TechRepublic lists 20 degrees of freedom, enough to walk, turn, wave and stand up after a fall, with LiDAR, depth sensing and voice AI for conversation, an open SDK, ROS 2 support and over-the-air updates. A developer programme built on Nvidia’s Isaac platform lets buyers train behaviours in simulation before running them on the robot. A future Skills Store, where developers could share or sell robot skills, is described as prospective.
Faraday has not published FF Nova’s height or weight in the materials we reviewed, and the releases do not say where it is made. Our October report found that Faraday’s “built in USA” robots start with assembly of sourced hardware. Sales run through FF.com, FF Mall and an official Amazon store. Faraday’s own Futurist humanoid is listed at $89,900, according to its June filing.
How does the FFR deal work?
FFR will buy Faraday Future’s robotics business, valued at about $200 million, by issuing new shares at $2.246 each. FFR itself is valued at about $60 million fully diluted, so the seller ends up with control: Faraday Future is expected to own about 65.7% of FFR on completion. The new shares carry an 18-month lock-up. Closing depends on Faraday’s internal restructuring, agreements with certain key employees and shareholder approval under Nasdaq rules; no closing date has been set.
FFR also announced up to $10 million of first-round PIPE financing, priced at market with no discount or warrants, and scheduled a listing ceremony and Nasdaq Investor Day for October 26 in New York. FFR’s chief executive is Jerry Wang.
Where does FF Nova sit in the market?
At the bottom on price and at the top on uncertainty. Unitree’s R1 at $4,900 to $5,900 ships now; FF Nova’s first 20 units ship now and the next 80 go to invited buyers. China has cheaper child-sized robots, such as Noetix’s 94 cm Bumi at under RMB 10,000. The test for FF Nova is the second phase: when it opens, and at what price.
