NAVER will complete its robot ecosystem within 2026, the company said on August 4, 2026. Three pieces: Rookie2 for indoors, Nuri for outdoors, and ARC Brain as the orchestration platform above both.

Rookie2 commercialises this year and adds on-device positioning on top of the cloud stack. The design change is the point — the original Rookie ran at 1784, NAVER's purpose-built robot-friendly headquarters in Seongnam. Rookie2 targets ordinary office and commercial buildings that were not designed around robots, and will replace Rookie in Japan.

What Japan taught it

NAVER's first overseas commercial project fed back concrete constraints: Japanese safety regulations, elevator integration, disaster response and LINE ordering-system integration, producing a new manager app, a disaster mode and remote control. Nuri, the outdoor robot, uses NAVER Map and digital twins and is engineered for Saudi high-temperature conditions.

Why it matters
