Read the service the way the company's balance sheet does. Teleoperated hours are the cheapest way anyone has found to buy dexterous, in-the-wild manipulation data, and the customer is paying $30 an hour to generate it in a real home rather than a lab mock-up. Compare that with the alternative route: China's data-factory build-out, where firms staff floors of operators to produce demonstration hours with no revenue on the other side. The autonomy claim, then, is close to zero for now. Ken Goldberg of UC Berkeley told ABC7 that it is too early, and that he would be surprised if a humanoid could usefully clean a house.
